LET'S GROW TOGETHER
ABOUT LAKE FOREST COMMUNITY GARDEN PARK
The Lake Forest Community Garden Park is to create, promote, stimulate, educate and inspire individuals to the love of gardening. A Community Garden Park is an expression of the joy of gardening for all age groups, in an individual and community setting.
It fosters learning about nature, an exchange of ideas and experience from one generation to the next, and fosters character attributes of sharing with others. A Community Garden Park is a park in the truest sense in that it brings together individuals of a common interest for the enjoyment and benefit, not only for themselves, but the entire community.

Announcement!!!
Whispering Hills Park Site – Lake Forest Community Garden Park
January 21, 2016 at 7 PM, Lake Forest City Hall
The Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Commission is scheduled to hear an update from the Community Services Director on the Whispering Hills Park Site, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 7 PM. The meeting will be held at the Lake Forest City Hall, 25550 Commercentre Drive, Suite 100, Lake Forest, CA 92630.
The Community Services Director will discuss hiring a “Park Consultant” to look at 10 existing Parks and the Whispering Hills Site to determine the appropriate recreational uses.
The best course of action is to remain vigilant in attending City meetings and voicing our opinions. Please speak up at the January 21, 2016 meeting during public comments about the community need for a Garden Park with educational gardens, individual gardens, open to everyone. Gardening is the most popular recreational activity in America, let’s bring it to Lake Forest in a community setting.
In addition a site “beatification plan” which in a small way, will improve the appearance over a vacant parcel is being suggested. The concept design indicates the current fence be replaced with a more visually appealing design, a grassed strip along the sidewalk and a row of trees on drip irrigation along the street frontage. It should give the appearance of the beginnings of a Community Garden Park with all the green planting.
